TMJ Pain | Is it your neck or your jaw?

Patient: “I have TMJ”
Physical Therapist: “Yes. You actually have two of them”

TMJ refers to the jaw. TMJD refers to the dysfunction that can lead to pain. However, TMJ pain is not always due to dysfunction in the TMJ. A lot of the time it is because of issues in the neck or restriction in the nervous system. Finding the right fix for your problem requires differential diagnosis.
